Excellent followup to your previous post. I have lots of words to live by, but when it comes to inspiration for getting something done I like;

"Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you are probably right."

Translation? If you think you can do it, you will do it. If you think you can't do it, you are likely to fail. It is all in the attitude!

i am not good at knowing famous quotes by cs lewis and wordsworth, i just know every time i heard them they turned my head. so one day i will own and try to read their great works.

i do have a couple of bible favorites...

psalms 34:19 the lord is close to the broken hearted,...

acts 10:28 ...but god has shown me that i should never think of anyone as impure.

ecclesiastes 4:10 if one falls down, his friend can help him up. but pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up.

mathew 5:3 blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kindom of heaven.

ephesians 6:4 parents, do not exasperate your children; instead bring them up in the training and instruction of the lord.

mark 14:36 ...take this cup away from me, but not what i will but what you will

jeremiah 24:6-7 my eyes will watch over them for their is good,...i will build them up and not tear them down;...

exodus 23:20 see, i am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and bring you to the place i have prepared.

isaiah 43:2-3 when you pass through the waters, i will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. when you walk throught the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

psalms 32:7 oh lord, you are my hiding place, you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

hebrews 6:18-19 he who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatley encouraged. we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

2 samuel 22:7 in my distress i called to the lord; i called out to my god. from his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears.

psalm 73:26 my flesh and my heart may fail, but god is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

2chronicles 15:2 the lord is with you when you are with him. if you seek him, he will be found by you.

phillipians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to god. and the peace of god, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in christ jesus.

proverbs 3: 5-6 trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

1 corinthians 16:13 be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

ephisians 5:8 for you were once in darkness, but now you are light in the lord. live as children of light.

2 samuel 22:29 you are my lamp, o'lord; the lord turns my darkness into light.

one that truely inspires me
mathew 25:35-36 for i was hungry and you gave me something to eat, i was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, i was a stranger and you invited me in. i needed clothes and you clothed me, i was sick and you looked after mee... the king will reply, i tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me...

my husband and i, used to invite strangers to eat with us, and pick up their tab. my brother and i did too, lonely people to sit with us... comfort the lonely.

i typed really fast, kids 18 mo and 3 yrs... so didnt ck

someday my favorites will also be cs lewis and wordsworth quotes...hopefully.
